Ways to spend time with the bees

Whether it’s a classroom full of curious kids, a small group ready to suit up, or a property owner interested in hosting a hive, there’s a way to connect with the bees through Just Me and The Bees in Charleston, South Carolina.

Hive experiences & tours

For one afternoon, you’re not a visitor — you’re the beekeeper. Suit up for a guided, hands-on visit. Each experience includes 45–60 minutes at the hive, exploring 1–2 hives, fresh honey tasting, and protective gear.

Hive Experience — $150: Private guided hive visit and honey tasting.
Hive Experience + Keepsake Video — $195: The experience plus photo/video coverage edited into a 30–45 second keepsake video.
Gift Package — $230: The experience and keepsake video, plus two jars of honey to take home, ready to gift.

Extra honey jars are available to add on during your visit. Hive visits are best for ages 8 and up; please wear closed-toe shoes and light clothing. A suit, gloves, and veil are provided.

School & youth talks

Bring the world of honey bees into the classroom. These age-appropriate talks include real hive tools, photos and props, plenty of questions, and an optional live observation hive.

Classroom Talk — $150–$200: 30–45 minutes, one classroom, no live hive.
Assembly Talk — $250–$350: Up to 60 minutes for a full grade or whole school.
Observation Hive Add-On — +$50: Add a live observation hive to a classroom or assembly talk.
Multi-Session Day — $400–$600: Three or more back-to-back sessions in one visit.

Travel is included within about 20 minutes of Charleston; farther visits may have a small agreed-upon travel fee. Schools I already visit regularly may qualify for a loyalty discount.
